NIRS sensor technology

Nutrient measurement on site using a NIRS sensor is the ideal way to ensure an optimum nutrient supply for crop cultivation and to meet the increasing requirements for controlled fertilization. A NIRS sensor also enables continuous measurement of nutrient levels. For this purpose, the liquid manure flowing past is irradiated with special light, part of the light is reflected by the liquid manure and recorded by a sensor. The measured light spectrum is compared with stored data in order to subsequently determine the nutrient content.

This data can be used to control the application rate and document nutrients.

Two example systems that are DLG-approved and have already been integrated into our vats are the NIRS speedspy onboard manure from m-u-t GmbH and the HarvestLab 3000 from John Deere
